Consumer video cameras utilize fuzzy logic for Autofocus and lens motion. Modern lens systems have independent zoom and focus elements. There is no complex gearing to maintain focus over zoom range. Now it is done by two independent motors which are controlled by fuzzy logic using a separate microprocessor, referred to as a Lens u-com. Iris opening and white balance is controlled by fuzzy logic too.
Many other consumer products have used this for many years. I first heard the term coined by Panasonic about 7 years ago.
