| Live Oak Theatre School of Acting is a professional
training with a total commitment to the student. The
school is affiliated with Live Oak Theatre, the only
professional theatre in Austin with a continued
relationship with Actor’s Equity Association (the stage
actor’s union). We are located downtown around the corner
from the State Theatre, Live Oak’s permanent home. the
school was started not only to help build a greater base
of trained actors of all ages, but to raise awareness of
theatre in Austin. Our mission is twofold; to prepare the student interested in acting as a profession, and to serve the simply curious — those seeking a creative environment or just have in a safe place to "play." We believe that continuous training and study are an integral part of an actor’s work. We encourage all actors to seek out classes and teachers that enliven their work, challenge their craft, and rekindle that inspired state where one can soar. We strive to provide that environment!
