Christine Albert and Sarah Elizabeth Campbell performing at Symphony Square

Sponsored by Supercuts and Vinson & Elkins

Be prepared to double your pleasure with Christine Albert and Sarah Elizabeth Campbell this weekend. The Austin Symphony’s Summer Music Festival features these two artists on July 20, 1996 at 8:30 p.m.. Tickets are $6.00 per person.

Blues and bluegrass … smooth and mellow. Sarah Elizabeth Campbell opens the night with her raspy voice and easy laugh. Mary Chapin Carpenter recently said, "Sarah Elizabeth Campbell writes songs from the heart. She sings them that way too."

Following Ms. Campbell, country-western singer Christine Albert takes the stage and sings a unique Texas sound, showing influences of a strong French background. She has two albums that have brought together her Texas and European ties — You Are Good (1990) and TEXAFRANCE (1992); both have brought her critical acclaim.

Christine Albert tours often in Europe and has been seen here locally with Texas legends such as B.W. Stevenson, Jerry Jeff Walker and Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson. Christine can also be remembered for her Blue Bell Ice Cream ads and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s "Don’t Mess With Texas" campaign.
