Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police along with Correo Aereo to perform at Symphony Square

A night of Brazilian and Latin American beats showcases Correo Aereo followed by Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police entertaining at the Austin Symphony’s Summer Music Festival on August 3, 1996 at 8:30 p.m.. Tickets are $6:00 per person.

Correo Aereo plays traditional folk music from Venezuela, Mexico and Argentina, taking listeners to another place and time. The international touring duo has been hailed for their virtuosity and soul.

Correo Aereo is followed by two-time winners of the Austin Chronicle’s "Best Latin Band" award. Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police have been entertaining audiences in Austin and other Texas cities with their Brazilian beat for several years.

Samba Police performs a wide variety of Brazilian rhythms, as well as original compositions. Audiences are treated to the infectious beat of all-percussion "batucadas" (street sambas), along with a repertoire of samba, baiao, forro, samba reggae (bloco afro), bossa ova and more.
