Remember to bring any extra seeds and plants (annuals, perennials, shrubs, etc.) with you to the XGC monthly meetings to share with your fellow club members!
We also recycle plant pots. If you have sturdy plastic pots—4 inches or larger—drop them off in front of the Zilker Garden Center before the next meeting. The pots are recycled to Native Texas Nursery in exchange for plants for the Xeriscape Demo Garden.
The Xeriscape Garden Club of the Austin Area, Inc. is a nonprofit organization formed in March 1987. The club was formed for the express purpose of teaching and promoting water conservation through creative landscaping. The XGC of the Austin Area, Inc. is a member of the Austin Area Garden Council which was formed in 1955.

Our meetings are FREE and open to the public. They are held the third Wednesday evening of each month at 7:30 PM. Emphasis in our club is on education. Each month our program includes a talented speaker keeping us current on the latest trends in Xeriscape-related topics. Call our XGC Info Line at 370-9505 to hear the current month’s speaker and meeting location.
The XGC club is classified as a 501(c) (3) organization by the IRS, and can therefore accept donations from both members and other donors. Donations to the club are used to further the purpose of the club, which is to teach and promote water conservation through the use of quality landscaping that conserves water and protects the environment.
Send your donations to the club’s regular address (P.O. Box 5502, Austin, TX 78763) marking your payment as a donation. Amounts over $250 will be acknowledged in writing.
