debuted in Chicago in 1993 and has been a favorite there ever
It is based on an actual historical event that took place over 100 years ago. A ship owner (German immigrant) risks his life and property, sailing his ship through rough winter weather, to bring evergreen trees from Northern Michigan to the German immigrant families of Chicago.
The play is co-directed by Rod Caspers and Rick Schiller and will play 12 performances at the Mc Callum High School Fine Arts Acedemy Theatre, located at 5600 Sunshine Drive.
Performances, which begin on December 6, are Friday and Saturday, evenings at 7:30 beginning and Saturday and Sunday, afternoons at 2:00.
The play is recommended for families with children ages 10 years and older.
