Austin Symphony Youth Programs

Through its many and varied youth programs, the Austin Symphony touches the lives of more than 60,000 young people each year. These programs provide music in the schools, bring students to the concert hall, give some the opportunity to play with and learn from masters, and broaden the musical experience of all. For many of the younger children these programs are the basis of a lifelong association with music. For all these programs are an enrichment of their lives that cannot be matched. This page explains the individual programs, their goals, how they serve our youth, and their reach. Unique programs for children pre-school age through high school. Worthy programs considered among the finest in the nation. Programs deserving continued support and participation.

Related Services

In addition to the Austin Symphony programs detailed here, our city and area’s young people also enjoy: free Symphony concerts in the park at the Zilker Hillside Theatre, the festive Fourth of July concert and fireworks on Town Lake, free or discounted balcony tickets to the annual Pops Concerts, and visits to Symphony dress rehearsals by orphanages and special schools.

A Special Thanks

The volunteer efforts of Women’s Symphony League, Knights of the Symphony, and the Symphony Square Committee, are what help keep all of these programs running smoothly. The children of Austin thank you for all your efforts.
