Xerophytic Ferns
We don’t normally equate Central Texas with ferns. That’s why Dan is excited about the opportunity to talk about the variety and usefulness of these lesser-known plants. According to Dan, there are seven genera and 35 species of common ferns that are native to Texas, many of which will thrive in a xeriscaped shade garden. Got a fern in your yard or a photo of one which you can’t identify? Bring them in, and Dan will identify them for you.
